Met Opera: Macbeth

Two of opera’s greatest artists return to the Met: Live in HD series with Verdi’s riveting take on Shakespeare’s immortal tale of the scheming pair determined to seize power at any cost. Baritone Quinn Kelsey is the Scottish king haunted by memories of his bloody path to the throne, while soprano Lise Davidsen takes on the role of the power-hungry Lady Macbeth, whose destructive ambition brings ruin to them both. Metropolitan Opera Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts Louise Proske’s striking production. The star-studded cast also features tenor Freddie De Tommaso as Macduff and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as Banquo.
