Serious Comedy “All or Nothing!”

There are people who draw, there are people who sing, others play the piano, climb mountains, ride bicycles, or go on long walks. Everyone enjoys life in their own way, according to their tastes and means. But if the sharp turns of life throw you overboard and, in middle age, you are forced to find a solution, it often leads to a dead end.

When you determinedly go to the bank to ask for a loan, but they refuse because you are too old, and you have neither a guarantor nor collateral, and the helpless feeling on your shoulder is already putting its heavy hand on you to force you to your knees, driven to desperation you can only blurt in the bank director’s face: “If you do not give me a loan, I will seduce and sleep with your wife.”

This will be a truly thrilling survival battle for two actors.

This time is no exception, and creating the production together with two leading actors of their generation - Artis Robežnieks and Normunds Laizāns - is not only an unprecedented experience, but also a creative challenge, because both masters have devoted the best years of their lives to the stage and know the craft, thus excellently enriching the joint work with their contribution. This play is tricky. In the best sense, of course. It entertains, shakes you up, and asks questions. The genre designation we chose for the production, ‘serious comedy’, is no coincidence. It makes it possible to talk about serious things through jokes, and vice versa,” says the director of the production, Intars Rešetins-Pētersons.
