Ozolnieki Amateur Theatre Performance "Steel Magnolias"

Author Robert Harling

Director Dace Vilne

It is a story about women who, though gentle and feminine, are nevertheless forced to experience situations that can only be dealt with by being "made of iron...".

The play takes place in a beauty salon in a small town in Louisiana.

On the title page of the script, author Robert Harling noted: “The women in this play are witty, intelligent and, above all, true to character. Under no circumstances should they be portrayed as caricatures.” And he has given his heroines simple and heartfelt lines: “We like being nice to one another. There’s nothing else to do in this town… What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger… You can’t even imagine how wonderful you are…”

In the cast: Agnese Ditke, Ineta Freimane, Irēna Leitēna, Lolita Meinharde, Villija Pakalne and Linda Austra Revica.
