PUERTO FLAMENCO “PURO”

An avant-garde flamenco dance troupe from Seville

On November 25 this year at 18:00, the grand concert hall of Daugavpils Culture Palace will host a passionate and emotionally charged flamenco evening with Puerto Flamenco from Seville.

Puerto Flamenco is an avant-garde flamenco dance troupe from Seville that has been combining authentic Andalusian flamenco with contemporary stage direction, design, and an original artistic vision since 2004. The troupe’s motto is: “We do not change flamenco to fit the stage, we change the stage to fit flamenco.”

Puerto Flamenco’s performances are marked by unbridled energy, improvisational freedom, virtuosity, and emotional intensity. Each performance is a vivid and thrilling journey into the world of Spanish culture, rhythm, and passion, where dance, guitar music, percussion, and vocals merge into a single artistic experience.

The troupe features outstanding Seville flamenco performers - dancers Antonio Molina “El Choro”, Abel Harana and Antonio Castro “Antoñete”, singers Jesús Corbacho and Encarnita Anillo, guitarist Ruben Romero, as well as troupe leaders Francesca “La Chica” and percussionist Andrej Vujicic. The artists have collaborated with world-renowned flamenco masters and performed at the most prestigious festivals and concert halls in the world.

Puerto Flamenco has taken part in internationally known festivals such as WOMAD, Sziget Festival, Festival Flamenco de Jerez, and many others across Europe, Australia, America, and Asia, earning acclaim from audiences and critics worldwide.

The troupe has received special recognition for its ability to preserve authentic flamenco “duende” - the soul and emotional power that makes every performance unforgettable.
