Svēte Amateur Theatre Performance - R. Thomas’ “Eight Loving Women”, directed by N. Ķikute

Eight women, one mysterious murder, and no one trusts anyone. In the play “Eight Loving Women” by French playwright Robert Thomas, the audience is drawn into an apparently peaceful private home, where Christmas morning turns into a tense investigation. When the dead body of the household master is discovered, all the women present become suspects - each with her own secrets, passions, and motives.

The performance combines detective intrigue with an ironic look at human relationships, revealing how fragile even the closest bonds can be. The dialogue is sharp, the situations are unpredictable, but the truth turns out to be much more layered than it first seems.

For the amateur theatre of Svēte Parish, this production is both a special challenge and an exciting adventure. By staging this play, we step out of everyday life for a moment and live in another world, where tension meets humor and human weakness.
