Three Graces. Early Music Program

In the concert program “Three Graces,” three outstanding and internationally experienced soloists have come together for the first time: sopranos Terēze Gretere, Ilze Grēvele-Skaraine, and Nora Kalniņa, joined in collaboration by harpsichordist Gertrūde Krauksta (Jerjomenko).

Their focus here is on works conceived for three, two, and one voice, rooted in the Italian musical heritage of the 16th and 17th centuries. Thematically, the artists will relive passionate love and speak of inspiring nature, let us look into eyes shed with the tears of love’s pain, and listen to vivid inner monologues of women, as well as invite us to visit the mysterious world of mythology.

Program: Barbara Strozzi, Luca Marenzio, Luigi Rossi, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Martino Pesenti, Claudio Monteverdi, and others.
