New Year’s Song Duel at VEF Cultural Palace

On December 31 at 12: 00 noon, twelve hours before midnight, Baiba Sipeniece-Gavare, Uldis Marhilevičs, Normunds Jakušonoks, Olga Rajecka, Ufo, Elita Patmalniece and many other popular artists invite you to the New Year’s Song Duel at VEF Cultural Palace, where, as they themselves say, “we will have a proper dress rehearsal for the magical midnight that will follow 12 hours later!”. That is exactly why the event has been scheduled twelve hours before midnight, at noon, so everyone will have the chance to welcome the New Year twice and sing and laugh their hearts out in great company!

“This will be a beautiful and colorful concert, guaranteed to bring good spirits and positive emotions!” promises Baiba, adding: “In this concert, with elements of a song game, a great team will meet on stage - Uldis, Normunds, me and costume designer Elita Patmalniece - as well as many well-known singers and personalities. Our main wish is for everyone to be able to enjoy the concert with family or with friends, listening to and singing along with songs close to their hearts and dear to them”.

The musician admits that he hopes for and looks forward to audience participation and sing-alongs: “In my opinion, this New Year’s Eve will be the peak of Latvian singing, when everyone will be able to sing along, because the songs will be familiar enough and easy to sing together. I think it will be a great experience both for us and for all the listeners!”

Uldis Marhilevičs: “The offer to host this evening brought joy and delight, because the three of us always have a truly fantastic time together. I think that is the main reason to meet people just before the turn of the year, people who want to spend the evening happily and joyfully.” In his opinion, that is a good reason to go to VEF Cultural Palace, to sing together, laugh, and in the end simply have a good time. “We want to turn this event into a real celebration - into a concert with added value!”
