Guests on the Veranda | AURĒLIJA ŠIMKUS | CONCERT STORY

Aurēlija Šimkus CONCERT STORY.

We all perceive music differently, and what we hear in concert halls sometimes leaves the listener alone with all kinds of questions about the conception and performance of a piece.

On Sunday afternoon at CONCERT STORY, we will listen to piano music by both Latvian and international composers. Pianist Aurēlija Šimkus will share a personal account of each piece and of the journey she has taken with this music.

Listeners will be given the opportunity to ask questions freely and share their thoughts about their listening experience.

Aurēlija Šimkus is an internationally acclaimed Latvian pianist whose talent emerged in early childhood. At the age of eleven, she gave her first solo concert, and in 2016 she received the prestigious German music award Echo Klassik in the category New Artist for the album Bach. Ich ruf’ zu dir.

Aurēlija has performed at several European music festivals and played with orchestras from Latvia and abroad. Her concert career and studies with distinguished teachers in Latvia, Germany, Sweden, and Italy have shaped a broad musical experience.

In the Wilson veranda event series Guests on the Veranda, visitors have the opportunity to meet representatives of creative professions in a house-party atmosphere, enjoy their prepared performances, and take part in conversations about art and life.

We will welcome visitors with homemade cheese sandwiches and a glass of sparkling mineral water.

We definitely invite you to take a walk to the sea, which is beautiful in every season and only a 3-minute walk away.

In cool weather, knits, shawls, and scarves that you can wrap up warmly in will suit the event.

A small-scale event.

Cats may be present at the event!
