VPDK “Dūka” and Friends Dance Concert “We Have a Joyful Life!”

The middle generation dance ensemble “Dūka” from the cultural center “Sigulda Devons” invites every admirer of stage dance to a concert, “We Have a Joyful Life!”, on November 21 at 5:00 p.m. Audiences will be entertained by performances from both local middle generation dancers and ensembles from Vangaži, Madona, Valmiera, Riga, Allaži, Jelgava, and Ogre.

Eight middle generation dance ensembles will meet at the concert “We Have a Joyful Life!” to remind everyone with dance, music, humor, and warmth that life is not only duties and everyday worries. It is also friendship, being together, the joy of meeting, and joyful dancing.

The concert’s lively title, “We Have a Joyful Life!”, reflects the energy, zest for life, and love of the “Dūka” ensemble. It is important to note that several new dancers have joined the group this dance season, and the youngest dancer is 29 years old! As a result, fresh and lively dances will already be on show at this concert.

The leader of “Dūka,” Vilnis Brēmanis, describes the daily life of the dance ensemble succinctly: “We dance because we like it, we are good at it, and there are ‘our people’ there. In the rush of everyday life, it is necessary to have a place where you can forget about work, feel the music, dance out your joy, and sometimes laugh heartily at yourself. We dance because we want to, we can, and without all this something would be missing from our lives. As long as we dance, we live!”

The concert “We Have a Joyful Life!” will take place in two parts, featuring both the repertoire from previous years and dances learned just recently.

Everyone is invited to celebrate the joy of life, dance, and that special feeling that only “our people” can truly understand together with the “Dūka” ensemble!
