A. Alunāns Jelgava Theatre performance “EVERY YEAR ANEW”

Alan Ayckbourn, "Every Year Anew"

A kind of comedy

The action of the play takes place every three years at Christmas, but the story will not be about Christmas at all. Whatever role each of us has been given in this world, we are always, just like every year at Christmas, waiting for the festive miracle that will change our lives. Seen from the outside, it sometimes seems funny, but very relatable. And as long as we are destined to experience Christmas every year, it all goes on. And that is the good news.

Alan Ayckbourn is a well-known British playwright, and his works have also been staged in Latvian theatres, but this poignant comedy has been staged in Latvian for the first time.

Cast: Ilze Beķere, Santa Bērziņa, Amanda Siliņa, Ivars Mozga, Oskars Revics and Andrejs Vītoliņš.

Directed by Dace Vilne. Set designer Ivars Pirvics

The production had its PREMIERE in June 2026.
