On Saturday, 24 October, we invite you to discover coffee both as an exotic plant and as an aromatic drink without which many people cannot start the day.

Lecture: Why do plants need caffeine?

Botanist Vineta Vērpēja will reveal the importance of caffeine in the plant world beside a coffee tree. In the lecture, you will learn about this plant's development and spread in the wild, as well as find out which other plants still contain this invigorating stimulant.

Coffee masterclass and tasting with Aura Coffee

In the masterclass, the experts from Aura Coffee will introduce the basics of coffee culture and share practical advice. At the event, you will gain an understanding of bean varieties, growing regions, and their impact on the taste of the drink. You will see a demonstration of different brewing methods in person so that the skills you learn can be used at home. The event will conclude with a tasting of three coffees ground on site, where you will learn to identify aromas and flavor profiles while gaining hands-on experience of the drink's diversity.
