Comedian Edgars Bāliņš announces a tour of his stand-up show “Average Latvian” in several Latvian cities, choosing the nationally significant date of October 3 for the premiere. The opening performance will take place in Riga, at VEF Culture Palace.

“I’ve taken a decent eight-year break so I could return to the stand-up comedy scene at exactly the right moment. The diplomatic explanation for this move would be that I am coming back to improve the country’s sense of humor and help the people. In reality, just like a politician, I am of course doing this only to get enormous wealth, insane fame, and unimaginable power in my own hands,” Bāliņš says about his long-awaited return.

This is Edgars Bāliņš’s third solo show. Previously, the comedian delighted fans of humor with the shows “Almost There” and “In That Sense, Everything’s Chill,” with the second show also treating audiences internationally, performing in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Edgars Bāliņš is also known as a musician in the rap supergroup “Singapūras satīns,” a member of the podcast “Bize vaļā,” the founder of the comedians’ collective “Comedy Latvia,” an event host, and one of the country’s best-known Eurovision commentators. In recent years, Bāliņš has also tried his hand at acting, taking part in more than 50 sold-out performances of “Glābjas kas var” across Latvia.
