Exhibition "Collapsing Flat Waves - Robert Rehnig"

Visitors are invited to the exhibition by sound artist Robert Rehnig.

Robert Rehnig's works often explore simplified, perceptible processes that unfold in abstract soundscapes. The exhibition presents installations that focus in particular on the perception of space and, more broadly, on silence. The unifying theme is always the transition from hearing to listening.

Robert Rehnig is a sound artist and composer based in Leipzig. He works in the fields of audiobook production, stage music, and sound installation art. His series "Souvenirs entomologiques" received the German Audiobook Prize. His works have been presented at Singuhr-Hörgalerie in Berlin, Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden, Kunstverein Hamburg, the ZixP Festival in Leipzig, the Mid-Autumn Harvest Moon Festival in Montreal, Maison du Géant in Salins-les-Bains, Patarei in Tallinn, the Punto de Encuentro festival in Valencia, the sound:frame festival at Künstlerhaus in Vienna, and the Frühjahrstage für zeitgenössische Musik in Weimar. He teaches at SeaM (the Studio for Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art at the Franz Liszt University of Music Weimar) and at the electronic music studio of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. He is currently a doctoral student at Bauhaus University Weimar, where he researches the psychophysics and phenomenology of silence.
