A cycle of classical etudes dedicated to the 70th birthday of Riga Pantomime - 70 years. Different generations. One language - pantomime.

On the occasion of Riga Pantomime’s 70th anniversary, the etudes that have at various times been part of the company’s repertoire and that were once performed by different generations of Riga Pantomime mimes return to the stage.

Some of these etudes belong to the classical pantomime repertoire of the world, while others were created within Riga Pantomime itself. They are not only stage works of their time, but also testimony to Riga Pantomime’s artistic signature and its distinctive performance language.

Over seven decades, generations, people and eras have changed. Yet the language of movement, facial expression, music and silence has been passed down from generation to generation. Learning from the masters of world pantomime while at the same time searching for its own form of expression, Riga Pantomime has created etudes from which larger productions have grown and its inimitable performance style has taken shape.

In this anniversary performance, the past meets the present. What was once performed returns to the stage to become alive once again - in movement, music, light and silence.
