Zvaigzne ABC Publishing, in cooperation with Zvaigzne Cafe, invites you to an EVENING OF CONVERSATION!

On October 29 at 6: 00 PM, an evening of conversation about myths will take place at Zvaigzne Cafe, K. Valdemāra iela 6, Riga, marking the publication of Stephen Fry’s book Myths. Illustrated Edition in Latvian. The event will feature Vents Sīlis and Gatis Ezerkalns.

Vents Sīlis is an associate professor at Riga Stradiņš University (Mag. phil., Dr.sc.soc.), a philosopher, sociologist, and publicist.

Gatis Ezerkalns is a lecturer at the University of Latvia, Dr. philol., and the author of the book The Witch in My Closet.

Stephen Fry retells ancient Greek myths with his characteristic wit, erudition, and narrative scope, bringing the ancient gods, titans, and mortals vividly to life once again. From the creation of the world and the struggles of the gods on Olympus to Prometheus and Pandora, Persephone in the underworld, Eros and Psyche, Midas, and many other figures, these stories weave together love and desire, power and revenge, jealousy, betrayal, punishment, and the irony of fate.
