In America, the principal of a Catholic school, Sister Aloysius, becomes suspicious that the school priest may have committed some crime. There is no direct evidence, but the question of Father Flynn's guilt grows. Doubt eats away at people, because it becomes impossible to understand who is right and who can be trusted. Can suspicion without proof be grounds for action? Is silence as dangerous as a false accusation?

"This work, in my opinion, is very relevant, given that we live in an age when with one anonymous letter it is possible, if not to destroy, then at least seriously damage a person's reputation. Society tends to condemn and trust the loudest first opinion, although sometimes things are not at all as they first seem," says director Toms Treinis.
