Viesturs Kairis' film "Ulia"

on September 30 at At 18.00 in the culture center "Vārpa" there will be an opportunity to watch the new Latvian film "Uļa" by the director Viesturs Kairis - an emotional drama about identity, belonging, the courage to accept oneself and the path towards one's dream.

The film's story takes the audience to 1960s Latvia, where Ulia, an Old Believer teenager, lives. Her unusual height of almost two meters attracts the attention of basketball coaches, and the girl is taken to Riga to start her career in professional sports.

Arriving in a foreign city and the world of professional sports, Ulia must learn to overcome not only sporting challenges, but also her inner doubts. Little by little, she realizes that the most important choice in life is not to hide from the world, but to accept herself, believe in her abilities and boldly follow her own path.

The film "Uļa" is a story about dreams, personal strength and the search for belonging, which allows you to look at the history of Latvia and the world of sports in a different way.
